ASSAULTED NYSC MEMBER IN ANAMBRA -SOLUDO REACTS.
The Anambra State Government has taken decisive action against eight operatives of the Agunechemba Security outfit. They dismissed the operatives following the brutal assault and public stripping of a female corps member, Miss Jennifer Elobor. Ken Emeakayi, the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Community Security, announced this at the agency’s headquarters in Awka today.
Ken Emeakayi explained that the government acted quickly after receiving reports about the incident. He stated that the dismissed operatives would face prosecution by the police. According to him, the officers attacked the corps member while pursuing suspected cultists. He condemned their actions as “totally outside the mandate of the agency and utterly condemnable.”

He further stated that Soludo administration prioritizes professionalism and accountability. Any officer guilty of misconduct would face immediate dismissal and prosecution. Despite pleas from the victim’s family and officials of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for a quiet resolution, the government insisted on a full investigation. They aim to ensure accountability and deter future incidents.
Furthermore, the government has taken steps to support the victim. They settled her medical bills and replaced her damaged belongings, including a laptop and phone. Additionally, they issued a public apology to her family, the NYSC, and the general public.
This incident will serve as a turning point for reforming the security outfit.
