NIGERIA INDEPENDENCE: TRUTH OR SHAM?
Nigeria independence is a big sham. The true essence of independence; full sovereignty, economic autonomy and social justice is yet to be fully realized.
Nigeria’s independence in 1960 marked a significant milestone in the country’s history, but true control remained with foreign powers.
Britain created a system that still benefits them long after their departure. The country gained independence, but key institutions were shaped in London. Nigerian leaders were trained in Britain and thought like their former rulers.
Nigeria independence didn’t mean full freedom as various systems kept foreign influence alive. Western nations, especially Britain and the U.S., found new ways to control Nigeria. They used loans, foreign aid, military deals, and covert partnerships.
Oil became a major focus, with foreign companies profiting from Nigeria’s resources. Local communities suffered pollution, destroyed farmlands, and poverty. Western countries backed military coups and political manipulations.

In addition, the influence of the United States of America grew through weapons, training, and intelligence sharing. Foreign powers also shape Nigeria’s elections and leadership choices. Debt loans often ended up benefiting foreign contractors and banks. Infrastructure projects often serve foreign investors more than Nigeria.
The goal is simply a soft takeover, keeping Nigeria dependent and controlled.
True freedom seems impossible while foreign interests persist unchecked. Nigeria’s leaders and people need to wake up from this hidden slavery. Only awareness can lead to breaking free from these invisible chains.
We believe that the fight for real independence continues, beyond symbols and titles.
